Barrier trial analysis Greyville 1000m poly 15/06/2018

st Traces (AUS) (Orffer/B Crawford 2yoc At 57kg draw 4) This classy Australian-bred colt by Snitzel was coming off a disappointing fifth place finish in the Grade 1 Tsogo Sun Gold medallion, in which he moved up threateningly but then found no extra in the closing stages. He led this trial from start to finish and did it easily throughout and was striding out well. 57.98 seconds

nd 0,50 Victory Trip (Fourie/Bosch 3yof MR84 A 58kg draw 3) This Trippi filly has won three times from 1200-1400m and used this as a racecourse gallop opportunity as she last raced just a month earlier. She showed good pace and strode out without being asked a lot. 58.07 seconds

rd 2,50 Magicality (Wright/Tarry 4yof MR80 At 59kg draw 1) This Captain Al filly has won twice from 1000-1160m and was returning from a four month layoff. She showed fair pace from the off to be behind the leaders and strode out well throughout. 58.43 seconds

th 2,55 Singh Is King (Samuel/Naidoo MR56 At 60kg draw 9) This Noordhoek Flyer gelding is an in and out sort but has ability on his day and has won twice from 1200-1400m. He is best behind a strong pace as he likes to stride out before using his good turn of foot and he was able to do this here so is one to watch in a lowly sprint handicap on the poly. 58.43 seconds.

th 4,05 Strategic Move (Lembethe/Tarry 5yom MR84 AB 59kg draw 6) This Strategic News mare has won six times from 1200-1400m, five of them on the poly, and she strode out well throughout without being asked a lot. 58.7 seconds

th 4,30 Cascada (Moodley -1.5 kg/Lafferty MR76 A          58kg draw 2) This one-time winner over 1600m by Visionaire was returning from a three month layoff and was up in the vanguard before being allowed to come home in her own time. She strode out well throughout. 58.75 seconds

th 7,05 Sweet Mary Lou (Hewitson/Tarry 2yof A 56kg draw 10) This unraced Await The Dawn filly is a half-sister to Grade 1 Allan Robertson winner Brave Mary. She showed good pace from a wide draw to be right up there and was then just kept to together in the straight. She has a zippy action, so might take more after her speedy mother than her middle distance-to-staying type father. 59.25 seconds

th 8,55 Star In The Sky (Veale/Drier 2yof S 56kg 2yof draw 8) This unraced Silvano filly is out of a Listed winning miler by Galileo. She was a bit outpaced but strode out well and will be seen to her best over further. 59.53 seconds

th 14,05 Noble Rock (L J Ferraris -4 kg/Tarry         2yoc A 57kg draw 5) This unraced Seventh Rock colt is a half-brother to Grade 1 SA Classic third-placed Like A Panther. He is big and immature and has plenty of scope. He was outpaced and showed he needed it as he was eased down before the line. 60.57 seconds

th 15,55 The Other World (Ngwane/Drier 2yoc S 57kg draw 7) This unraced Irish Flame colt was green and badly outpaced. He strode out well and will need a lot further. 60.86 seconds
