Barrier Trial Greyville poly 1000m 26/10/2018
st Beat It (Jacobs -4 kg/Howells MR83 A 58kg draw 2) This Jackson filly’s previous outing was an eight length eighth in the Grade 1 Thekwini over 1600m for two-year-old fillies. She strode out well throughout and overtook the two in front of her effortlessly.
nd 1,50 Negma (Jacobson/Crawford MR61 S 59kg draw 3) This Dynasty filly earned six cheques in eight starts in Cape Town but is still a maiden and returned here from a three month layoff. She showed fair pace and strode out well enough and should come on from the outing. 60.04 seconds
rd 3,50 Amex (Randolph/N Kotzen A 58kg draw 6) This unraced Kildonan filly had one previous barrier trial. She is well put together and has a fair stride and after showing some acceleration from the back in the straight she threw her toe out nicely, but she is still green. 60.37 seconds
th 3,55 Bonniebrook (Moodley/Naidoo A 59kg draw 7) This unraced Crusade colt had one previous barrier trial. He is tall and has some scope but strikes as one who would need a bit of ground, despite being out of a Silvano mare whose only win was over 1000m on debut and who was kept to sprints. 60.38 seconds
th 8,55 Taweel (Sakayi -2.5 kg/Tarry A 59kg draw 4) This unraced Silvano gelding had one previous barrier trial. He is not the biggest but is compact and although not striding out terribly well looks to be one who can improve. 61.22 seconds
th 8,70 Call To Duty (Ngwane/Naidoo A 59kg draw 5) This unraced Pomodoro gelding was slow away and green but has some scope and a fair action and will come on from the outing. 61.24 seconds
th 10,20 Zilla (Pagel/Denysschen MR63 a 59kg draw 8) This was her return from an eight month layoff and she strode out well under the hands and was making late progress. 61.49 seconds
th 12,70 Dante’s Gold (Ramzan -4 kg/Lunn A 58kg draw 1) This unraced Judpot filly had finished last in two previous barrier trials and after striding out quite well under the hands she faded without being asked any questions. 61.91 seconds
