Barrier Trial Greyville poly 1000m 13/02/2019

st  African Warrior  (De Melo/Kannemeyer A 57kg draw 5) This unraced two-year-old Vercingetorix gelding was dwarfed by his older rivals but has plenty of substance and has a lovely, uncomplicated action. He was handy throughout and stayed on well to complete a pleasing trial. 60.01 seconds

nd 0,05 Liquid Irish (Randolph/Whitehead  S 58 kg draw 3) This unraced filly is by the useful bread and butter sire Traffic Guard. She is imposing and after racing handy stayed on well without being asked a lot. She should pay her way over further trips. 60.02 seconds

rd 0,55 Jenny Denny (Veale/Rivalland A 58kg draw 1) This Var filly was returning from a layoff of over a year after running fourth as joint favourite in a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 800m. She is on the slight side but after being restless in the pens jumped quickly and showed plenty of pace to lead until the 150m mark. She stayed on well and should win a sprint or two. 60.1 seconds

th 1,85 Lord Caro (Ngwane/Whitehead  A 59kg draw 4) This unraced Mogok gelding is a chip off his sire, being on the small side but nicely put together and athletic. He came from near the back to run on well with a nice action and was not hard pressed. 60.29 seconds

th 2,10 Dark Fate (Arries/Anthony A 59kg draw 2) This unraced Master Of My Fate colt is tall and from a handy position stayed on with a nice action without being hard pressed. 60.32 seconds

th 2,60 Al Jackman (Godden/Whitehead MR54 A 59kg draw 10) This battling maiden was restless in the pens but jumped well and showed good early pace without being hard pressed. Battled to stay with them in the straight but did stride out well and made some late progress. 60.41 seconds

th 2,90 Atacama Raid (Jacobson/Whitehead A 59kg draw 8) This unraced Traffic Guard colt was outpaced before staying on well so as his breeding suggests will need further. 60.48 seconds

th 3,80 Mai Dancer (Khan/Howells A 59kg draw 7) This unraced four-year-old Admire Main filly is small but compact and stayed on quite well from near the back with a fair action. 60.62 seconds

th 3,90 O Sole Mio (Wright/Nel S t 58kg draw 6) He has earned cheques in two starts over 1200m and 1400m and was returning from a four month layoff. He strode out well but was a touch outpaced in the straight and likely needed it. 60.65 seconds.

th 11,90 Roy’s Hippy (Jacobs -4 kg/Naidoo A 58kg draw 11) This unraced Al Miqdaam filly was awkwardly away and then outpaced and green. The rider gave her a number of smacks in the straight so it was not the best introduction. 61.96 seconds

th 15,00 Roy’s Enemy (Samuel/Naidoo A 58kg draw 9) This unraced Al Miqdaam filly showed good early pace but was caught wide and tired badly in the straight. 62.49 seconds
