Race 1
5 PARMENION 1 CAPTAIN CATMAN 7 FLEET COMMANDER 8 ROCK FALL
Summary: PARMENION (5) has been up against winners at recent outings. He was a close-up third when trying the poly for the first time and this trip should suit. CAPTAIN CATMAN (1) made marked improvement first up on the poly. He now get s a 2.5kg claimer up and should be competitive again. FLEET COMMANDER (7) was a touch disappointing second time out on the turf after making a promising debut on the poly track. That form is a little suspect but he meets little of note here. ROCK FALL (8) has his first run for a new stable. He has shown some promise and the poly could suit. (Andrew Harrison: 5-1-7-8).
Race 2
3 WHISPERING GREEN 5 EDVIGE 7 QUEEN JACKSON 1 GREEN SLEEVES
Summary: WHISPERING GREEN (3) started at long odds last time out but made good improvement with blinkers on for the second time. The stable is in form and a repeat performance should see her home. EDVIGE (5) has run her best two recent races on the poly. She was running on nicely last start and should feature. QUEEN JACKSON (7) is lightly raced and caught the eye second time of asking when starting from a wide draw. She looks primed for a big effort. GREEN SLEEVES (1) been improving slowly and blinkers seemed to have helped. She gets a 2.5kg claimer aboard and can do better than her last effort. TOP TEN is stable companion to Whispering Green. She was beaten less than a length last run but in a small weak field. That’s not to say that she’s out of it. (Andrew Harrison: 3-5-7-1).
Race 3
4 NAME OF THE GAME 10 QUE FOR YOU 5 BAY BREEZE 1 WEDDING BLISS
Summary: The controversial decision to give women jockeys a 1.5kg sex allowance could come into play here with NAME OF THE GAME (4) Dean Kannemeyer’s filly has been racing in stronger company but goes well over this trip and Rachel Venniker is worth three or four lengths with her allowance as she is just as good as any male rider. QUE FOR YOU (10) has taken on stronger at her last two and goes well on the synthetic surface. BAY BREEZE (5) showed up well in an apprentice handicap last outing won by the strongly fancied favourite. She can do better here. WEDDING BLISS (1) was caught on the line last run on the turf. She has been holding form and can finish in the money again. (Andrew Harrison: 4-10-5-1).
Race 4
8 RUNNING RIFLES 6 QUEUE WING 2 CUPID’S SONG 9 GIAMBATTISTA
Summary: RUNNING RIFLES (8) has excellent form on the poly and effectively escapes a penalty with Venniker’s 1.5kg claim Distance suited and can follow up on his last win. QUEUE WING (6) is a poly specialist. He is lightly raced but should make a bold bid. CUPID’S SONG (2) was in need of his last run but was not far back. Over a more suitable trip from a good draw and a 2.5kg claimer up, he has much in his favour. GIAMBATTISTA (9) has been up against weaker at recent starts but gets plenty of weight from his more fancied rivals and has a money chance. (Andrew Harrison: 8-6-2-9).
Race 5
9 WINTER’S DESTINY 3 LADY TIPTREE 4 LADY MACBETH 8 GIRL OF TREGUNTER
Summary: Wide open handicap. WINTER’S DESTINY (9) goes well on the poly and was touched off over course and distance last time out. In with a big chance. LADY TIPTREE (3) was well supported in the betting when winning last time out. She came from well back to get up in the last stride. Her recent form is solid and she should put in another good performance. LADY MACBETH (4) found a ton of market support last start and landed the gamble. She gets a 2.5kg claimer up so is well in at the weights. GIRL OF TREGUNTER (8) was a comfortable winner at second time of asking but that form has proven suspect. She makes her poly debut. (Andrew Harrison: 9-3-4-8).
Race 6
4 TRACK COMMANDER 2 FAMOUS AND RICH 1 LUCRETIUS 7 SECRET GIVER
Summary: TRACK COMMANDER (4) has come good on the poly but took a hit in the handicap when fourth last time out. However, he gets relief in the saddle from Rachel Venniker and the step up in trip should suit. FAMOUS AND RICH (2) was a comfortable maiden winner at second time of asking and appears to have plenty of scope for further improvement. He should not be troubled by the extra 400m. LUCRETIUS (1) has tumbled down the handicap and now looks to be off a more competitive mark. He has the best of the draw and has been coming to hand. SECRET GIVER (7) has shown up well in two starts for his new stable. Both runs were on the poly but he does take on stronger. (Andrew Harrison: 4-2-1-7).
Race 7
2 BEND THE RULES 7 DOUBLE ESPRESSO 1 SPACE NEWS 5 HIGH GREEN
Summary: Tough handicap. BEND THE RULES (2) has been dropping in the ratings and has been up against stronger at his last two. He has a plum draw with a 2.5kg claimer up and should have a say in this line-up. DOUBLE ESPRESSO (7) was a close-up second last run at long odds. The stable is very much in form and he can go one better. SPACE NEWS (1) has come to hand nicely at recent outings when fitted with blinkers and was running on well last time out. He switches to the poly but the blinkers come off. HIGH GREEN (5) has found some of his better form of late and is over his best course and distance. He has a 4kg claimer up which should help his chances. (Andrew Harrison: 2-7-1-5).
Race 8
3 NEW ORLEANS 9 MAGICALLEE 7 HER ROYAL MAJESTY 10 PUFF OF SMOKE
Summary: NEW ORLEANS (3) is over her best course and distance. Plum draw and a light weight should see her close-up. MAGICALLEE (9) has drawn a touch wide but has a smart 4kg claimer up and is over her best course and distance with only 50.5kg on her back. HER ROYAL MAJESTY (7) is over her best trip and was narrowly beaten last outing on the turf. She goes equally well on both surfaces. PUFF OF SMOKE (10) looks to be a little high in the handicap but does show some ability and also gets 4kg off her back. (Andrew Harrison: 3-9-7-10).
