Kenilworth Saturday March 11 tips and race previews by Andrew Harrison

Race 1
Preview: BELIEVETHISBEAUTY drifted from odds-on when making a smart debut and she should come on lengths for the experience. However, that form has not been watertight with two others close up in that race finishing down the field, notably DISCO WARRIOR and CASUAL DIAMOND. Joey Ramsden sends out the expensive yearling buy DYNASTY’S BLOSSOM but he’s a trainer who likes to give his juveniles a solid grounding and stable companion ROSE IN BLOOM with stable rider Donovan Dillon aboard could prove the better bet. (Andrew Harrison: 9-1-7-5)

Race 2
Preview: GADGET MAN disappointed last run but the stable has been through a virus and he may well have needed the outing. He may be worth another shout. RISKY RAMBO has his third run after a break and looks to have come to hand and should be a threat while COME ON SONNY was also slightly disappointing last time out but is better than that showing. (Andrew Harrison: 1-3-2-4).

Race 3
Preview: DAWN RISING had her form franked when Straat-Kind won first time out of the maidens and unless there is a springer amongst the first timers, Dawn Rising looks the part here. JICKETY CAN made a promising debut at long odds and should come on from that. KATNISS was coming off a break when not too far back last start and can feature here. WATERBABY wasn’t too far back in Straat-Kind’s race and was having only her second outing. She could still make significant improvement. LINDLEYS LANE also made a promising debut and is not without a prayer. (Andrew Harrison: 1-6-2-13)

Race 4
Preview: This looks to be something of a punters night-mare. In a weak maiden field STELLARSTONE showed some improvement after returning from a break and she does not need much further improvement to feature here. REBEL’S BURTS improved in a workriders plate and with Richard Fourie aboard could make further improvement. EDGE OF GLORY has shown some ability and could feature  while SPRING GOLD dead-heated with Edge Of Glory for fifth when last they met but that was in a workriders race and the form could be misleading. (Andrew Harrison: 1-7-3-2)

Race 5
Preview: Andre Nel’s yard has been in good form and SISTER SOOZIE has shown u nicely in both starts. The extra should suit. JANICE’S SECRET found good long-shot market support at her second outing and made marked improvement. Fourie has stayed with the ride which is a good indication of her chances. COLORADO ROSE has some fair form over this distance and could prove the best of Joey Ramsden’s trio although Donovan Dillon will be aboard THE WIDOW’S CLUB that could prove significant. (Andrew Harrison: 11-10-1-5)

Race 6
Preview: SMOKEY AFFAIR finished close-up behind Just Sensual in the Cape Fillies Guineas and although she returns from a break she is still under the radar as far as the handicapper is concerned and should have a strong chance. CALIFORNIA GIRL has shown up nicely in recent sprints and now that she is older the step up in trip should not prove to be an insurmountable hurdle and she looks the main threat to the likely favourite. AMARILLO ROSE was close-up last run and although she takes on weaker here she has a light weight and from an in-form stable.  (Andrew Harrison: 3-5-6-4).

Race 7
Preview: DANCER was in a tough race when one from last in the CTS 1600, however, his form prior to that was consistent and she should do much better in this company. FLY LIKE THE WIND comes off some smart PE form and although PE ratings are below those of Cape Town, Kingvoldt was no slouch and would be competitive in this field. STREAK OF SILVER seldom runs a bad race and is overdue another win. LE HAVRE has been outpaced at the business end of his races so the steps up in trip could bring the best out in him. (Andrew Harrison: 2-1-3-5)

Race 8
Preview: Tricky. Will be interesting to see whether the form behind Sunshine Lady holds up. A head separated SIGN YOUR NAME and ELUSIVE EMPRESS but the former has the better draw here and she could have a slight edge. SYLVANITE can do better than her first run out of the maidens and should run well from a good draw. SUNSHINE LADY is back in the mix but is up in the handicap. (Andrew Harrison: 12-13-3-1).
